British Market Research Bureau

BMRB’s 75th anniversary

BMRB is Britain’s longest established market research company, so each new anniversary is worth celebrating, but reaching 75 deserves particular attention.

From BMRB's first board meeting at the head office of erstwhile parent company J. Walter Thompson in 1933, the road from Bush House to Ealing Gateway has been long, eventful and highly influential, helping to shape marketing and social research into what it is today.

We’ve trawled the archives to gather some images past and present that we feel illustrate some of that journey.

We have had the good fortune to work with some amazing people over the years – people who have had a profound influence on BMRB and the market research industry generally.

To celebrate 75 years in the business, we have invited BMRB managing directors and chairmen, past and present, to write about issues concerning the market research industry. For the first in the series, click here.

We are immensely proud of our heritage, the work we have done for our clients and the people who have worked here. 75 years on from the birth of BMRB we continue to produce ground breaking work for great clients. A flavour of which can be seen on the BMRB timeline.

A huge thank you to everyone we have worked with in the past 75 years, we look forward to continuing our existing relationships and nurturing many new ones.

Here’s to another 75 years.
