Graduate Trainee, Social

We are looking for quantitative research trainees in BMRB Social Research. One of the largest and most respected social policy research units in the UK, our work helps shape and inform government policy making across all areas of public policy, including crime and criminal justice, employment, education, health, environment, transport, housing and homelessness.

Role profile

Working in a team of 10-15 people within the Social Research unit, you will get involved in all aspects of research projects, including:

  • helping with research proposals and costings
  • designing and testing questionnaires
  • briefing interviewers
  • preparing and checking fieldwork documents
  • liaising with clients, attending client meetings and building client relationships
  • briefing and liaising with operations staff
  • checking and analysing data
  • writing research reports
  • preparing and delivering presentations of research findings to clients

Qualifications and skills

  • 2:1 class degree
  • Good A levels or equivalent
  • Highly literate and numerate
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to plan ahead and prioritise
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

Disposition

  • Practical common sense as well as intellectual capability
  • A desire to succeed in a commercial environment
  • A demonstrable interest in politics/social policy
